Caymus
The nose of this wine is especially interesting to me. There's the presence of a well-cared for, clean farmstead. Possibly the aroma of a freshly opened bale of hay or the combine dust during the summer harvest at my cousins wheat farm in St. John, Washington. This is layered with the fruit components─ ripe cherries crushed in a snifter, a subtle smell of ripeness. And a bit of grape pumice at fermentation, rustic. Other nuances come to mind─ smoke in a forest cabin, earth, spice and cola. The flavors in this wine are genuinely good, but the textural elements are its most exceptional feature. The entry wanders, deliberating, then evolves and expands to cocoa- like fine tannins in harmony with oak, fruit and acidity. A balanced and harmonious wine with a long evolution.
Wine Spectator
Young and appropriately vibrant and grapey. Homes in on pure currant and blackberry fruit, veering briefly toward cedar and tobacco before tightening on the finish. Best from 2014 through 2024.

Sustainable practices incorporate organic standards and may exceed them and include ecologically and socially sound business practices such as fair pay for farm workers and energy conservation.
Screw Cap
Wines sealed with a screw cap as opposed to a cork, which experts report protects and preserves wine more effectively than does a cork, while also eliminating the possibility of cork taint.
No Sulfites
All wines naturally contain some sulfites, however wines that contain less than 10 parts per million sulfites are not required to include "Contains Sulfites" on their labels.
